Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI)
The Functional MRI Laboratory is co-operated by Department of Electrical Engineering and Department of Psychology. The fMRI Lab is equipped with a state-of-the-art Bruker S300 Biospec/Medspec MRI system that is used exclusively for research. High-resolution visual stimuli can be presented during scanning. Manual responses and eye movements can be recorded in real time. The Lab provides data preprocessing (image reconstruction, slice acquisition correction, motion correction) as part of its functions.
Main elements of equipments include:
- An active shielded 90cm bore size 3T Bruker MRI/MRS system
- Active shielded Cryo Magnet B-C 30/90A
- Active shielded gradient coil
- Sets of imaging system for human body, sizes of animals and microscopy
- Different imaging RF/Gradient coils, with their own amplifiers, swit chable in the same system
- Full package of application software is provided to facilitate interdisplinary cooperation
- Electronic Synchronization Unit (ESU) receiver system for in total 8 external synchronization signals for ECG, EGG, EMG, respiration etc.
- Four channels RF amplifier will be installed for phased array coil(2003)
